Learning occurs within ourselves. The first skill we should acquire is the ability to look deep inside ourselves. It’s crucial to consciously delve deeper to uncover who we truly are and what we want. Often, there are hidden aspects of ourselves that we are unaware of, but as children, we’re never taught to explore them. Instead, we fill our minds with information from external sources, which clouds our memories. Our minds become filled with external knowledge, leaving us lacking in self-awareness.

The initial step towards true understanding is learning about ourselves. However, what we typically identify about ourselves is limited to our name, family name, community, country, etc., but this is not genuine learning.

Real learning involves understanding who we are and striving for this understanding on a daily basis. Only then can we proceed with external knowledge.

Today, this process is often referred to as self-awareness, yet we seldom discuss the mechanisms or daily practices necessary to achieve it. Self-awareness lays the foundational layer for further learning. With this foundation, we can continue acquiring information about everything else besides ourselves.

The way external information is processed is determined by our connection with the self-layer. Whether information becomes knowledge or understanding depends on this self-layer. The ability to use knowledge for application or creation should truly depend on the self-layer. However, we are currently completely disconnected from it. The self-layer could aid in thinking in terms of using intuition, but currently, we rely heavily on rationality, which is like a knife cut and know things, where we use excessive thinking, completely disconnected from our self-layer.

As we delve deeper into the exploration of our inner selves, it becomes crucial to acknowledge the significance of daily practices that aid in unraveling the complexities of our self-layer. Engaging in introspective activities such as journaling, meditation, or quiet contemplation allows us to peel away the layers of societal conditioning and external influences, revealing the core essence of our being.

This is the most crucial aspect of learning as it helps individuals build their careers. However, there is no daily mechanism mandated for understanding ourselves on a daily basis, which is essential for all other endeavors. While we have mandatory methods in place for acquiring knowledge through institutions, training, or other means, there is no mandated process for delving into our self-layer.

In popular culture, the term “self-awareness” is often categorized as a soft skill. However, it’s important to note that it’s not merely about knowing ourselves; it’s about the ongoing process of learning about oneself.
